for Anything!”
STAR Awards were presented February 21, 2018 at the Anchorage office.
On August 22, 2017, Danna Finnesand, Andy Postishek, and Crystal Ewan witnessed a vehicle overturn on the roadway north of the Ahtna Anchorage offices building. The trio assisted the driver in exiting the vehicle and provided initial first aid until emergency services arrived. Their actions minimized injury and kept the driver out of shock.
Franklyn Walker was nominated for Best Practices that lead to a safer and accident free environment. Franklyn’s nomination read in part “I have also observed him using proper lifting techniques when loading and unloading the cart. It is paying attention to these small details and setting an example for others that leads to a safer and accident free environment and he should be recognized for this.”
On February 1, 2018 Anna Upicksoun, recognized another employee who was experiencing a medical crisis and notified 911 and management. Anna waited with the employee until help arrived. Her actions could have been lifesaving.
