Ahtnas Shareholder Internship

Summer 2024: June 1 – August 31 (flexible for school dates)

The Ahtna Shareholder Internship is an intensive study program that provides work experience to Ahtna shareholders to assist them in achieving successful employment within the Ahtna family of companies. Internship participants receive valuable on-the-job training in one of many specialized fields. Work experience adds meaning to classroom instruction and allows participants to explore their career options.

National Park Service (NPS) Internship

Summer 2024

The intern position is a professional development internship based out of the Ahtna Cultural Center, located on the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park and Preserve Visitor Center (NPS) campus in Copper Center, Alaska. This position is provided through a partnership and with funding from the National Park Service. It is during the summer season from approximately May through September to support a project involving Ahtna cultural resources.

The internship involves working onsite with Ahtna, Inc. and National Park Service personnel to learn interpretation (walks and talks for visitors), customer service, education programs, and other professional skills. The position may also provide support for field projects, which may include work in remote field sites and collection of field data. Main duties are providing visitor services at the Ahtna Cultural Center.
